More than $275,000 Raised to Help End Violence Against Women
Congratulations GoodLife Group EXercise Instructors, participants and sponsors!
On April 14, GoodLife Group EXercise instructors in Toronto, Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary and Vancouver challenged nearly 700 Canadians with an Empower Hour to kick-off the Canadian Women’s Foundation’s Shelter From the Storm campaign.
Empower Hour, a one hour group-based cardio, calisthenics, agility, core and strength training workout, raised funds to support women and children who are rebuilding their lives after abuse.
The event raised over $275,000 for Shelter from the Storm, a month long program, and Canada's largest national campaign to end violence against women. Funds raised will support national and regional violence prevention programs and local women's shelters across the country.
Thank you for the awesome support of the eight-city Empower Hour! We had nearly 700 participants across the country huffing and puffing for the cause (more than double over last year!) along with an army of over 150 volunteers. Thank you to GoodLife Group EXercise Instructors for the passion and professionalism that was on display coast to coast! - Kathryn Babcock, Vice-President Strategic Initiatives, Canadian Women’s Foundation-
