Western University Announces Honorary Degree Recipients
David Patchell-Evans to receive Honorary Doctorate Degree at Western University's 299th Convocation.
On April 12, 2012, Western University announced the list of renowned individuals that will receive an Honorary Doctorate Degree when the school hosts its 299th convocation this June.
GoodLife Fitness founder and CEO, David Patchell-Evans, “Patch,” will receive a Doctor of Laws, honoris causa (LL.D.) during the convocation on June 20th, for his exceptional service to the University and the community at large.
Patch graduated from Western University in 1977 with an Honors degree in Physical Education, and minor in Business. While at Western, Patch began rowing with the Western Rowing club, leading to a competitive career that included 5 Canadian Rowing Championships.
During his award-winning professional career Patch has donated more than $4 million to The Kilee Patchell-Evans Autism Research Group at Western.
He joins the impressive company of 14 individuals of various industries including: Academia, Business, Judicial, Literature, Politics, and Science.
